Multi-Lingual Studies
Critical Mix routinely programs multi-lingual studies and we have significant experience working with many European and Asian languages. We do not do translations ourselves, but we can refer you to excellent partners who specialize in translations for marketing research studies.
The most efficient process from a programming perspective is to first program an English (master) version of the questionnaire which is inclusive of all localization changes for all countries/languages. We'll provide ways for you to test the survey (in English) as if you were coming in from any country, so that skips, brand lists, quotas and any other differences can be confirmed.
Once the English (master) version is programmed, tested, and 100% approved by all stakeholders, Critical Mix will output a specially formatted version of the questionnaire in an Excel spreadsheet. You have an option of sending the original questionnaire (in Word document form) to your translators, or this specially formatted spreadsheet, or both.
If only the Word document gets translated, then Critical Mix will have to copy and paste every question, response option, and any other piece of translated text; this can take a lot of time and increase costs significantly. But if the spreadsheet gets translated, Critical Mix can automatically import it into our software and have it ready for your review almost immediately.
